Developed by the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA) with support from NACCHO, this handbook serves as a comprehensive introduction to the clinical, administrative, and cultural aspects of working within the ACCHS sector in WA.
While specifically written for GPs (including International Medical Graduates (IMGs) navigating the Australian health system for the first time), much of the content is highly relevant to all clinicians working in our services. The handbook is designed to support, not replace, local onboarding and orientation processes.
We encourage you to share this digital resource with your teams, and especially with new starters whether they be doctors, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Aboriginal Health Practitioners or other new staff who would benefit from learning more about our sector. Utilising the online version will ensure you are accessing the most up-to-date version.
We hope this resource assists you and your teams in delivering high-quality, holistic care within your community.
