AHCWA Receptionist Grace Caine Retires After Fifteen Years of Dedicated Service

After 15 years with AHCWA, receptionist Grace Caine is now closing her chapter with the organisation, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, care, and an unwavering commitment to community.

Grace joined AHCWA in 2010, when the organisation was still resident at Dilhorn House. Over the years, she has watched the organisation grow and evolve, remaining a constant and familiar presence throughout. As the first person to greet staff and visitors each day, Grace has ensured that every person who steps through the front door is welcomed with a smile.

Her contribution to AHCWA has extended far beyond the front desk. Grace has supported major events, including the annual WA Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector Conference, and has contributed to many moments that have shaped the organisation’s culture and spirit.

Grace’s life has been one of vibrancy and experience. She has travelled across Australia and spent five years in the United States, living in Sacramento, San Francisco, Key West, and Seattle, where she worked in the childcare sector. She later returned to Western Australia, spending 17 years in the Kimberley working on stations, cooking, and raising orphaned calves, before continuing her commitment to community as a Senior Clerk at Derby Aboriginal Health Service.

Since returning to Perth and joining AHCWA, Grace has brought her experience, kindness, and positivity into every interaction. She remembers faces, names, and stories—ensuring that all staff, visitors, and community members feel seen and valued.

Across the organisation, these same sentiments continue to be shared. Speaking on Grace’s invaluable impact, Corporate Services Executive Manager, Trina Pitt, said, “Grace, you have always made not only our staff, but the many visitors that come to AHCWA, feel truly welcome to the office. We can’t imagine the office and our days without you.”

As Grace enters retirement, AHCWA extends our sincerest gratitude for her loyalty, dedication, and years of service. While she will be greatly missed, this next chapter brings a well-earned opportunity to spend more time with her family and grandchildren.

Thank you, Grace, for the lasting impact you have had on the organisation, staff, and the many people who have walked through AHCWA’s doors.
