AHCWA Receptionist Grace Caine Celebrates Fifteen-Year Milestone

This November AHCWA Receptionist Grace Caine celebrated 15 years with the organisation—a decade and a half of ensuring every person who steps through the front door is greeted with a smile.

Grace’s life has been one full of vibrancy and adventure, having travelled Australia before moving to the United States for five years. While there, she spent time in Sacramento, San Francisco, Key West, and Seattle and worked in the childcare sector. Following this, Grace returned home to Western Australia, where she lived and worked in the Kimberley for 17 years. This time included working on stations, cooking, and raising orphaned calves.

The next chapter in Grace’s life found her in Derby, where she demonstrated her longstanding commitment to community by securing a position as a Senior Clerk at the Derby Aboriginal Health Service. She returned to Perth with her husband in 2010 and joined AHCWA. Since then, she has watched the organisation grow, contributing her services to major events such as the WA Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector Conference and a wide variety of team challenges to build staff morale.

Corporate Services Executive Manager Trina Pitt said, “As the first person to greet staff and visitors to the AHCWA office each day, Grace is a cornerstone of our organisation. A welcoming and consistent presence at the front of house, Grace is a font of corporate knowledge and has built enduring relationships with our Member Services team and key stakeholders.”

Grace’s time with AHCWA has been shaped by a blend of lived experience, community spirit, and a willingness to make a difference in the ACCHS Sector. She ensures everyone—from long-term colleagues to first-time visitors—feels seen, remembering faces, names, and stories in a sector where relationships matter.

Congratulations, Grace, on this impressive 15-year milestone. AHCWA is thankful for your incredible loyalty and warmth, and for being the welcoming face of our organisation, greeting staff, visitors, and community members with genuine care.
