AHCWA’s Corporate Services Manager Andrew Webster Celebrates 10-Year Tenure

Executive Manager Corporate Services, Andrew Webster, last September celebrated a milestone 10 years of dedicated service to AHCWA; a decade during which he rose swiftly through the ranks of the organisation, helping steer it through various challenges over the years and winning awards for his significant contribution.

Andrew began his career at AHCWA in 2012, when he joined the organisation as a Human Resources Assistant. By July of 2013, Andrew had progressed to the role of Senior Portfolio Officer Human Resources; and went on to became the organisation’s Executive Manager Corporate Services in July 2018.

A strong and independent leader with natural confidence, Andrew has been unswervingly proactive in facilitating and improving AHCWA’s internal systems and processes, ensuring that we provide the best service to our Members. His role encompasses support for our Member Service CEOs and Boards with human resource and industrial relations issues, whilst simultaneously implementing the strategies that govern the day-to-day processes and procedures at AHCWA, from finance and resources to operational activities.

Andrew played a key role in AHCWA’s Crisis Management Team, supporting the management of Carnarvon Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation and Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service. This involved long hours and fly-in, fly- out work across the State over several months, with the team living out of a suitcase Monday to Friday. During his night on dinner duty at the share house, Andrew was renowned for unfailingly treating his colleagues to dinner at the local pub, rather than cooking.

Andrew’s knowledge and mental acuity make him a leader in his field, and he is confident in his ability to teach himself about – and master – any topic that interests him, immersing himself in the foundations of his multidisciplinary work unit. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his commitment to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff was second to none, as he prioritised collaboration and cooperation during unprecedented circumstances.

Andrew is known for consistently inspiring those around him to adopt higher standards of behaviour in the workplace, not only within his team, but also across the organisation, inspiring those around him to achieve.

Andrew promotes an open-door policy, ensuring he is approachable to all staff, regardless of reporting lines, his workload or deadlines. He leads by example, and respects and rewards proactive behaviour.

Andrew is passionate about building positive relationships, supporting and mentoring others to nurture talent and build capacity. Andrew’s contribution to the organisation during his time in the role has earned him great respect within AHCWA, the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector and amongst Member Service CEOs.

Thank you for your commitment and dedication over the past decade, Andrew.
