Exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Manager to lead the 'Newman Hub' Clinical Services team on a permanent basis.

 

The Clinical Manager – Newman Hub reports to and is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer, and is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing the provision of high quality and culturally appropriate primary health care services to the clients of Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service. This includes but is not explicitly limited to coordinating and supporting the overall multidisciplinary and integrated approach to the Newman Hub team’s goals to manage illness, promote well-being, maintain health systems, provide education and training and encourage community health action. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing all aspects of the day to day operations of the Newman Hub including planning, service delivery, portfolio management and consumables as well as assisting with assets management.

The occupant will facilitate end to end recruitment, sourcing high quality candidates to fill permanent, fixed term and temporary positions, primarily focused on ensuring the effective staffing of the Newman Hub. The occupant will be responsible for developing and maintaining a candidate database of qualified, skilled and experienced candidates relevant to all positions within PAMS.

Remuneration: Total Salary Range $100,000 - $110,000 plus 9.5% superannuation,  17.5% leave loading on 5 weeks annual leave, $1,600 gross annual airfare and salary packaging to increase take home pay.

About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience parts of outback Australia that most Australians will never see. The role of the Public Health Manager will ensure the safe delivery of an effective public health service to the Ngaanyatjarra communities that is in line with the strategic objectives of the Health Service.

 

The successful applicant will hold an undergraduate and/or post graduate qualification in Public Health or related health discipline and will have knowledge of Public Health issues affecting Aboriginal Health in remote communities. The Public Health Manager will work in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary health team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate public health and health promotion programmes in close consultation with community members and as a member of the senior management team.

 

The successful applicant will be highly self-motivated and driven and provided the experiences of a life time travelling by 4WD or plane in remote areas and learn about the Ngaanyatjarra people and their culture.

 

This position is subject to the successful completion of a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and must hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence.
