EOI General Practitioner

Location: Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, Kalgoorlie

Remuneration: $180,000.00 to $200,736.00

This position is a highly varied role that will see you working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinic team to deliver a comprehensive, holistic, culturally appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the Goldfields Region.

Outreach travel throughout the Goldfields with the Mobile Clinic team, up to 3-4 nights as required.

Health Practitioner (AHP, EN, RN)

Location: Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, Kalgoorlie

Remuneration: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00

 

This position provides health clinical assessment and treatment, care coordination, client support and community development activities to clients and families of the Goldfields.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse; have an understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant state board; demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment; efficient and effective time management skills; highly developed written and verbal communication skills; a deep and empathetic understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and a genuine passion for Aboriginal Health and well-being.

Registered Nurse (x2)

Location: Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, Kalgoorlie

Remuneration: $70,500.00 - $82,500.00

 

This position works within a small team environment with the aim of improving the health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision of comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care services.

The primary function of this position is to provide high quality nursing practice including assessment, examination, treatment and case management, along with contributing to the development of models of holistic health incorporating continuity of care.

This position requires travel to the Northern and Southern Goldfields areas on a regular basis, up to 3-4 days at a time.

SEWB Counsellor

Location: Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, Kalgoorlie

Remuneration: $80,000.00 p/a

Under the direction of the SEWB Coordinator, Counsellors are to ensure the delivery of culturally appropriate social and emotional health support to the Aboriginal community of the Goldfields.

 

To be considered for this role, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Counselling or related field; demonstrated ability to provide a counselling service based on sound knowledge of the psycho/social/emotional health and life-cycle factors; ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual and group treatment programs; efficient and effective time and caseload management skills; highly developed written and verbal communication skills; a deep and empathetic understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and a genuine passion for Aboriginal health and well-being is vital to your success in this role.

NDIS Advocacy and Engagement Officer

Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 30 June 2022

Location: Highgate WA 6003

We are seeking an NDIS Advocacy and Engagement Office to support our WA ACCHS and their communities to engage and participate with the NDIA to improve NDIS access for Aboriginal people with disabilities.

The NDIS Advocacy and Engagement Officer directly reports to the Policy and Strategy Manager and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer, and is responsible for supporting WA Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) as disability service providers under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The position will support WA ACCHS to engage with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and their communities to improve access for Aboriginal people with disability to participate in the NDIS. The NDIS Advocacy and Engagement Officer will also facilitate increased awareness within Aboriginal communities of the NDIS, and eligibility to necessary and reasonable supports under the scheme.

Aboriginal Community Engagement Officer

Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 30 December 2021

We are currently seeking a Sector Engagement Officer who will advocate on behalf of, and engage with, AHCWA's Member Services on policies and issues to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal people. This position directly reports to the Policy and Strategy Manager and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer. This position engages with metropolitan, regional and remote Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) on national and state-level policies and issues that affect the ACCHS sector and impact the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and their communities in Western Australia. This role provides an important link between ACCHS engaged in direct service delivery, AHCWA, government agencies and other non-government organisations, and maintains strong networks across the sector to share knowledge and information to support the delivery of culturally secure, comprehensive primary health care.

Aboriginal Liaison Officer 50D

Location: Perth, Eastern Suburbs
Position Type: Full Time

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support, care coordination, and advocacy to Aboriginal clients who are admitted to, already in, or are being discharged from hospitals, and are Derbarl Yerrigan clients.

To be considered, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  1. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander 50D of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.

  2. Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or equivalent qualification from relevant industry/profession, or working towards Certificate IV in Primary Health.

  3. Comprehensive experience in establishing relationships and liaising with external support services and health service providers including Hospital Liaison.

  4. Experience in advocating on behalf of Aboriginal clients and demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal culture and customs and its impact on health outcomes in aboriginal communities.

  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of records and information.

  6. Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to work and develop collaborative partnerships.

  7. Satisfactory computer literacy skills.

  8. Valid WA Drivers Licence and Satisfactory National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months for the date of issue).

Health Promotion Officer - Male 50D

Aboriginal Outreach Worker 50D

Location: Perth, Eastern Suburbs
Position Type: Full Time
Remuneration: $50,000 - $54,999 + Salary Packaging

 

The primary responsibility of an Aboriginal Outreach Worker is to work as a member of the Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service team to enhance chronic disease prevention and management; promoting Community engagement that provides ongoing dialogue with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, individuals and community groups. This is to identify service gaps, opportunities, with better planning and informed decision making thereby contributing to improvements in their health outcomes.

The Aboriginal Outreach Worker will also be responsible for the safe provision of client transport to and from Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service, hospitals, and clients' homes to meet medical clinic appointment times.

To be considered, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  1. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pursuant to Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act.

  2. Previous experience working within Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities.

  3. Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

  4. Current first aid or CPR Certificate.

  5. Computer literacy skills.

  6. Current full WA Drivers Licence.

  7. A WA National Police Clearance that is not older than six months and maintained every three (3) years from the date of issue.
