Primary Health Care Nurse -
Multiple positions

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Ngaanyatjarra Lands, WA

Salary Package: Base Salary: $119,642.94 per annum

The role of the Primary Health Care Nurse is to contribute and support the overall multidisciplinary and integrated approach to the remote health team’s endeavour to treat illness, promote well-being, maintain health systems, provide education and training and encourage community health action and promote a comprehensive Primary Health care service.

The key responsibilities are to work in partnership with other health professionals, Yarnangu, to provide clinical and population health services to all Indigenous residents of the Ngaanyatjarra lands. These services include:

  • Comprehensive Primary Health Care

  • Treatment of acute illness

  • Emergency care

  • Antenatal and post natal care

  • Child health care

  • Child and adult immunisations

  • Well person screening

  • Management of chronic disease

  • Sexual health

Mental Health Nurse

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Warburton Community, WA

Salary Package: Base salary range $108,617 - $114,586 plus 9.5% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading on 6 weeks’ annual leave, availability leave with $1,600 airfare allowance and salary packaging to increase take home pay.

The role of the Mental Health Nurse will ensure the safe delivery of an effective Mental Health service to the Ngaanyatjarra communities that is in line with the strategic objectives of the Health Service.

The successful applicant will be a registered nurse with AHPRA and have a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health and will have knowledge of Mental illnesses affecting Aboriginal people in remote communities. The Mental Health Nurse will provide mental health intervention, consultancy and liaison in relation to people with moderate to severe mental illness on the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

The successful applicant will be highly self-motivated and driven and provided the experiences of a life time travelling by 4WD or plane in remote areas and learn about the Ngaanyatjarra people and their culture.

This position is subject to the successful completion of a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and must hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence.

Clinical Manager- Newman Hub

The Clinical Manager – Newman Clinic is responsible for the day to day management and coordination of primary health care service delivery at the Newman Clinic. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Clinical Manager – Newman Clinic is required to provide high level culturally competent, clinical leadership and supervision to the Newman Clinic team ensuring planning and supervision of daily duties and coordination of visiting services.  This position is also responsible for maintaining quality systems to ensure standards are met in accordance with current editions of RACGP Standards for General Practice. 

Although primarily focused on the clinical administration of the Newman Clinic this position will also, from time to time be required to deliver patient facing services.
