Policy Officer

Type: Full time, Permanent

Location: Highgate WA 6003

Exciting opportunity to provide policy and advocacy support in relation to policies that will impact the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

The Policy Officer will report to and be directly accountable to the Policy and Strategy Manager, providing support in relation to national, state and local level policies that will impact the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and their communities across Western Australia.

This position will work closely with all AHCWA Work Units, AHCWA’s 23 Member Services; Regional Health Planning Forums; and other key stakeholders providing timely input and advice across national, state, and local policy agendas.

Clinical Manager - Newman Hub

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Newman, WA

Closing Date: 31 March 2020

Exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Manager to lead the 'Newman Hub' Clinical Services team on a permanent basis.


The Clinical Manager – Newman Hub reports to and is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer, and is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing the provision of high quality and culturally appropriate primary health care services to the clients of Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service. This includes but is not explicitly limited to coordinating and supporting the overall multidisciplinary and integrated approach to the Newman Hub team’s goals to manage illness, promote well-being, maintain health systems, provide education and training and encourage community health action. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing all aspects of the day to day operations of the Newman Hub including planning, service delivery, portfolio management and consumables as well as assisting with assets management.

The Recruitment Officer reports to and is directly accountable to the Operations Manager and is responsible for providing high quality and effective recruitment services to the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS). The occupant will facilitate end to end recruitment, sourcing high quality candidates to fill permanent, fixed term and temporary positions, primarily focused on ensuring the effective staffing of the Newman Hub. The occupant will be responsible for developing and maintaining a candidate database of qualified, skilled and experienced candidates relevant to all positions within PAMS.
